Good afternoon everyone, Just a few updates about exciting things going on with CPAR!
Our Diaper Drive is still going, Please drop off diapers/pull ups to the CPAR office by Friday so we can get them taken to the Harley House. This will take care of one more thing on our Core Standards.

CPAR has gone mobile!  We signed on for a probationary text alert system to get the news out to you. All cell phone numbers we have on file were added but if we missed you or you have changed your number you can sign up by going to our website, facebook or using this link.  We hope this helps everyone stay up to date with our events.

CASA Esperanza fund raiser is winding down.  If you still owe or would like to donate please do so by this Friday so we can get the check written and sent to them as soon as possible.

Wednesday Meetings are somewhat going back to normal.  Starting November 3rd meetings will be at 8:30AM.  Alphabetically each office will be in charge of running the meetings starting with Berkshire.  On the 3rd Wednesday of each month we will have a lunch meeting instead and will try to have guest speaker(s) to give us community updates.  Please join us anytime you can!

Member Orientation dates have been set, they are on the CPAR calendar.

Don’t forget local elections are upon us! Early voting is upon us.  Check here for polling locations and times.

This section will be available on all ballots.  City Mayor Mike Morris visited with us during our Quarterly meeting about the LEDA funds.  CLOVIS, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) – Announced today, on Thursday Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed Senate Bill 49, an amendment to the Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) that “will allow

municipalities to utilize LEDA funds to incentivize retail. Mayor Michael Morris spearheaded this effort during New Mexico’s recent legislative session, and the bill was carried in the legislature by Senator Pat Woods (R), Senator Ron Griggs (R), Senator Liz Stephanics (D), Representative Kelly Fajardo (R) and Representative Randy Crowder (R).”

“Senate Bill 49 is vital to our area to support local retail in Clovis and prevent buyer leakage into
Texas,” remarked Mayor Morris. “I would like to thank Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and
our local delegation, including Senator Woods and Representative Crowder, for their support in
this effort. By incentivizing new retail and the expansion of existing retail under LEDA, we will
be able to expand Clovis’ economy and encourage the community to shop Clovis first.”

Cancelled Class and Office Operations

Social Media Class Cancelled

Unfortunately Clinton has decided to cancel the in-person class we’d scheduled for April 17th. As much as he would like to he will not be able to travel or teach an in person class until this coronavirus blows over.

However, he has dropped the price of his online social media course (the same one taught in person) and combined it with the other courses he teaches – we are invited to take all 4 classes from his online school – which gives 13 hours of CE’s – for only $49.99. And he has made the subscription term 1 year, so you don’t have to take them right away.

The online school and the courses have all been approved and are licensed by the NM REC and count toward NM CEU requirements.

CPAR Daily Operations

If you have any business that would normally be done at the CPAR office I am still available over the phone.  As of Thursday, classes being held by Mr Treece are still on the books. You can sign up by going to our website here.

If you have new members joining your office, transferring in or out of you office or if you just have general questions I can be reached by calling the CPAR office.  All calls are being routed to my cell phone at this time.

Lockboxes:  If someone in your office has a lockbox they do not currently have on a property and you need it, 1st check with them, they may have it for a listing coming up, if not you can call me and let me know the lockbox number.  That is a transfer we can do without any special trips.  If you don’t have access to a box, please call Kathy Segura in Clovis or Wanda Graham in Portales and both will be happy to help you.

CPAR office closure

Dear Realtor friends,

As you know the last few weeks have been very trying to say the least.  We are in unchartered territory and trying to make decisions that assures the safety and health of our members and public have been our utmost concern.

Melinda informed this morning that her son stayed with a friend out on base and he is now under a 14 day quarantine.  Because of this, I have asked her to work from home for the next two weeks.  If you need a lock box our president elect, Kathy Segura will meet you at the board office.  Her number is 575-749-1881.    You can also get lockboxes from Kiva in Portales by calling Wanda  at 575-760-0155.  Also, please don’t hesitate to call Melinda, CPAR number is forwarded to her cell phone, as she’s working from home or myself 693-6745 if you need anything.  I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.  We are all in this together and we will get through this together. To be on the safest side we are also having the office cleaned and sanitized during this time.

I still believe it is a great time to buy a house!  Interest rates are at historic lows and real estate is still a very sound investment.  Plus, during times like this, our homes are our security.  We can be the leaders that our buyers, sellers, and the entire community needs right now.  Let’s be there for each other by keeping a positive attitude, praying,  and lifting each other up!  We can do this!  Thanks for your patience and support.  I will keep you up on any further changes.  Everyone have a great day and please support our local businesses.
